Wind is a work created on recycled transparent plexiglass. Using the fiber art technique, I glued threads of rolled or twisted 100% recycled cotton to bring to life a landscape that moves from static to agitated, then fades away, as if a sudden gust of wind were to carry it off.
The area where the threads remain floating is backlit to create plays of three-dimensionality, and the treetops extend beyond the support, reaching out to the viewer in all their materiality. Wind speaks of inner agitation, of a desire for change and improvement, of a world that must undergo an inner transformation and come to a collective awareness for a more sustainable future, both in terms of respect for nature and for human mental health—often too undervalued in the face of a world focused on work performance and human/material consumption.
