Vitruvian Ant
Category: Animals
40×60 cm
The Vitruvian Ant takes shape from the remains of a poor plastic print that was about to end up in the trash, transforming it into a work that celebrates industriousness, collaboration, and the strength of the individual and the group. Ants, often seen as bothersome, are in fact symbols of collective effort and determination, qualities I sought to express through recycled cotton on canvas. This piece represents the balance between the small and the large, between the individual and the community, and honors the ability of ants to work together toward a common goal. Currently on temporary display at the “Trenta Formiche” ARCI club in Rome, the artwork encourages the viewer to reflect on the hidden strength found in everyday work and unity.
