Fiber Matisse is a stylistic tribute to Henri Matisse, a personal interpretation of his abstract art and innovative spirit. To celebrate my new studio, I chose to experiment with this new workspace by creating a piece that blends fiber art techniques with Matisse’s visual approach. Using recycled canvas, I wanted to pay homage to an artist who once said that a true artist “should never be a prisoner of themselves, their reputation, their style, or their success.” “Fiber Matisse” thus represents an act of artistic liberation, a reflection on the freedom of expression and the importance of evolving without being bound by conventions.
